Welcome to Shaping Growth 

Hi, my name is Shay Blutrich, and I am excited to share my story with you.

 

I've always believed in the incredible potential of every individual, as those that believed in mine led me to where I am today. I began my journey into the field of disabilities and supports when I myself was struggling academically and then diagnosed with multiple learning disabilities. With the amazing years of support from my mom, family, various tutors, special education teachers, classroom teachers, psychologists and education support counselors, my confidence, skills and love for learning grew and continues to grow each day.

 

I decided through these experiences I would begin to work and volunteer in a variety of areas within the field of disabilities to see how I can be as impactful to other kids as my team was to me. During one of my experiences, I had the pleasure to work alongside Board-Certified Behaviour Analysts who showed me the true potential the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis has. This led me towards my path of becoming the behaviour analyst I am today.

I started Shaping Growth with the belief that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Every person is unique, and our methodology reflects that. We blend evidence-based techniques with a deep understanding of each individual's needs and interests to create tailored supports.

 

At Shaping Growth, our therapeutic approach emphasizes the importance of:

  • Pairing: Constantly fostering and building a trusting and positive relationship with each person we work with.

  • Self-Advocacy: Focusing on teaching skills that help an individual advocate to have their needs met and increase their independence in doing it themselves.

  • Whole System Approach: We value each person within your system. This includes your child, caregivers, and any other professionals on the team. Our focus is to strengthen this system and help you feel confident moving forward without continuous ABA.
